ALEX WOKE up slowly, languidly. Soft lips brushed his, teasing his mouth open. He kissed back, sucking slowly on his dream-lover’s bottom lip before trailing his tongue around, tracing every bit of skin, then delving inside.

“Hmm….” he murmured with his eyes closed. His arm stretched out, and he ran his fingers through the wiry chest hair under his hand, savoring the hard muscles against his palm. He tweaked one stiff nipple idly as his hand explored the delicious expanse of chest unfolding beneath him.

His dream-lover moaned.

“Wait, wait, wait.” His dream was talking, earnestly, trying to explain something that was dreadfully important, and he just wanted to kiss and touch and stroke. His cock was rigid and he thrust it against a solid thigh.

“Ow! Alex, wake up!” Martin grabbed his shoulder and shook him roughly. “Stop humping my leg so hard, it fucking hurts.”

“Da fuck?” Alex sat up in shock, still lost in his dream and completely confused as to why he was in a cave, in the cold and—what was going on?

“Lay back down!” Martin snapped, his face outlined with shadows from the dim, early morning sunlight. “Jesus, it’s freezing.” He reached up and tugged Alex back down against him, shivering.

“Huh?” Alex blinked the sleep out of his eyes and last night came rushing back into his mind. “Oh fuck me. I thought it was a dream! I was kissing you!”

“You were doing more than just kiss, thank you very much,” Martin retorted with a tight-lipped smile. “You were humping my hip.”

“Fuck.”

“If only. It was quite nice until you bumped my broken leg. I hadn’t been kissed like that in a long time.”

“Kill me now,” Alex moaned, and slung his arm over his eyes.

“Oh, don’t be a baby. A little sleep-grope was a nice way to wake up, all things considered.” Martin managed to grin at him despite how pale and drawn his face was.

Alex groaned and wished the ground would open up and swallow him. That was not meant to be. Martin yawned.

“You got any more water?”

“Yeah, yeah.” Alex braced himself against the cold and then quickly pushed himself up, not missing the pained hiss from Martin—as a result of jostling his injuries, or from the cold, Alex didn’t know and he wasn’t about to ask. He did up his shirt and jacket before retrieving the canteen, and passed it over to Martin.

Alex rummaged around his pack for food for them both and tried his best to ignore the snow outside. It wouldn’t be so bad. It couldn’t be more than two or three inches. There probably wasn’t much ice underneath. The hike up Baldy Mountain wouldn’t be so hard. He was amazed at his ability to lie to himself.

“Here.” He passed several energy bars over to Martin. “I’ll go now. No point in waiting. The chopper will probably get here before I get back.”

“How long?”

Alex did some quick mental math. “Two or three hours, depending on how icy the trail is.” He hesitated, not wanting to lead Martin on.
